We are reading Psalms 22-28 this week. Join us!
If you listened to my last podcast, you might be considering keeping a Bible-reading journal as you Walk through the Psalms this spring. Maybe you have your own tried-and-true journal that you like to use, but if you need a journal, you might want to try one of Kristin Schmucker’s Bible journals. I admire her commitment to helping people get into the Word daily. She has many resources for your Bible-reading journey. I just ordered her Psalms 119 Devotional (of course!) and this lovely Be Still Bible Journal. If you are trying to start Bible journaling for the first time and would like some structure to guide you, then Kristin’s journals might be perfect. Here’s why I recommend them:
- They have enough daily entries to last three months. Although I tend to like my Bible journals to hold an entire year’s worth of entires, I do like that the three-month size is manageable. In particular, this three-month format was ideal for me at this time in my life. My new book, Hunting Hope will be released in three months. I think the journal entries I write in this journal as we lead up to the book release will always carry special significance to me.
- They are perfectly set up on the interior to support the method I recommend for Bible journaling: Copy/Paraphrase/Apply. You will notice in the photo below that Kristin has added an Adore section before the Apply section. There, you can write out what the Scripture tells you about God’s character. There are so many reasons to adore Him.
- They are beautiful. Look, if you love something enough to keep it out on your end table or on your desk, then you have a better chance of using it. Come on, don’t you think this journal is really, really pretty?
By the way, I saw on Instagram that the Kristin Schmucker Shop is having her annual warehouse sale this week, and all of her “slightly imperfect” items are 50% off! I just missed that when I ordered mine last week. Oh, well! If you get one of her Bible journals, let me know!
By the way, if you were wondering about the breakfast plate in the photo above, that is from Feed on the Word dinnerware. It was a gift to me. It reads, “Embrace wisdom, and she will honor you” (Proverb 4:8). Truth!
Keep reading one Psalm a day, and be sure to check out my podcast this week, which emphasizes Psalm 22. It might be my favorite, yet!
